| FlowCore provides a number of services to train researchers in the use our equipment and to advise researchers how to get the best out of their experiments. It is recommended that users new to the technique attend a basic flow cytometry seminar before designing and performing their first experiment. |

| Training |
| Equipment Usage |
Dedicated operator assistance is only provided for the flow sorting equipment - researchers will be expected to run the analysers unassisted after a free initial training session. Please confirm a time with staff before making your first booking on one of the analysers, during which a half hour training session will precede the running of your experimental samples.
If you require further assistance beyond the initial training session, please contact a FlowCore staff member to arrange a time before making your booking. |
| Analysis Software |
| FlowCore staff are happy to assist users with the analysis of their acquired data using one the supported analysis software packages. Please contact a FlowCore staff member to arrange a time if you require such assistance. |

| Education |
| FlowCore conducts information sessions for researchers on: |
- Basic Flow Cytometry Theory
Provides a basic understanding of how flow cytometers work, how this impacts experimental design, what controls you will need and what to expect from your data.
|
- Advanced Flow Cytometry Theory
Best practices in flow cytometry data analysis, types of data transformations, sources of error, setting up multi-parametric (3+ colour) experiments.
|
- Applications of Flow Cytometry
Flow cytometry is no longer just a tool for looking at the expression of cell surface or intracellular antigens. Protein expression, protein binding interactions, a host of cellular processes and much more can be studied - the range of kits and protocols is growing by the day.
This seminar discusses different uses of flow cytometry, how they can be applied to various scientific disciplines and how it can benefit your experimentation. It can also be tailored for relevance to your field of research.
|
| These sessions will be conducted periodically at different locations within the STRIP building, but can also be arranged in your department or a nearby venue if demand is sufficient. For further information or to book a session, please contact us directly. |
